Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
1 Peter 3:3,4
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
1 Timothy 2:9,10

The Unisex Agenda Marches Forward in Fashion

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2011

by Victor Mowery (see article here)

The unisex agenda is a small but integral part of Satan's overall plan for society.  It involves removing all traditional virtues of God's well-ordered design for the roles and relationships of Man and Woman.  God ordained these roles and relationships at the very Creation of Mankind.  He then confirmed, after sin entered, that these virtues would be difficult to maintain because they will be painful and because they will be under attack by our own now-sinful flesh:

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. - Genesis 3:16 .
The interesting clause "thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee" is difficult to interpret until we notice the same phrasing in the next chapter, when the LORD speaks to Cain after the murder of Abel:

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him . - Genesis 4:7 .
In Genesis 4 , God is telling Cain (and by extension, all of fallen mankind) that sin has a "desire" to rule over a person but the person should instead be the master over sin.  Armed with this interpretation, we go back to Genesis 3:16 - "and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee."  We now can clearly see that God is indicating that after the Fall, the woman will have a sinful and prideful desire to be the head of her husband, i.e., to be the leader in the relationship, but the man is to have that role.

Now enter Satan.  He was there when this curse was pronounced and he knew exactly what God meant.  From that moment forward, Satan has been attempting to exploit this weakness that he knows about.

God is the God of order.  Satan is the author of confusion.  Wherever God has ordained order, such as the virtues of manhood and womanhood, Satan wishes to destroy that order and replace it with confusion.  Here are the main battle fronts Satan seems to have chosen lately in his ages-old quest to destroy God's order for Man and Woman:

  1. The acceptance of homosexuality, making a meaningless mockery of the God-ordained institution of orderly marriage.
  2. The rise of feminism, bringing the decline of gender-based roles of any kind.
  3. The brainwashing of men to accept the passive, clueless roles that Satan envisions for them.
  4. The use of every facet of Satan's power in this world to accomplish the above, including his control of the entertainment industry, the media, the fashion industry, etc.
Let us focus on point 4 above.  Remember that God's word plainly declares in I John 5:19 that "the whole world lieth in wickedness", meaning literally that the entire world system "reclines in the lap of the Wicked One."  Satan has overt control over the systems of this present evil world and he uses it for his goal of promoting confusion.

The unisex agenda of confusion is promoted most subtly (at times) but perhaps most effectively by the fashion industry.  Even many Christian men and women who claim to eschew feminism have embraced the clothing fashions that promote feminism and Satan's unisex agenda.  Christian women have unwittingly become Satan's pawns as they adorn themselves with clothing that outwardly proclaims, "I do not feel very feminine today."

Now Satan's unisex agenda takes even further great leaps forward on the fashion front, revealing to all who have eyes to see what the original goal was from the very beginning.  Not all that long ago, male garments being worn on women and redesigned for women debuted in America, accompanied at the same time by radical feminism in the quest to erase all that distinguishes between men and women.  Fast-forward forty years and the ultimate goal of the fashion industry's unisex plunge is now in full sight, as we shall see in the below review of this year's Fashion Week in New York.

Feminine twist on classic menswear at Fashion Week

NEW YORK — In every fairytale there's a princess and a hero. Unless she comes to her own rescue.

Luxe textures, sheer fabrics and fitted shapes offering feminine twists on traditional men's suiting are all over the runways at New York Fashion Week. It's strength combined with confidence, boy style , by Day 5 of fall previews.

Prabal Gurung has his share of frilly princesses. But, as in the case of his muse for the season, Miss Havisham of Dickens fame, the knights don't always show up.

"Her story is a lot about men," said Gurung from the front row of his mentor Carolina Herrera's show Monday.

Other designers mixed princess beauty and the strength of menswear .

Tommy Hilfiger sent classic tailoring and pinstripes down the catwalk. Donna Karan's DKNY turned traditional men's jackets into capes . Brian Wolk and Claude Morais looked to the history of menswear to please a Ruffian woman's search for "unkempt elegance" via a white silk blouse with black bow tie and tailed jacket .

Paula Gerbase, the creative director for the Black label collection of Woolrich John Rich & Bros., trained on London's Savile Row. No surprise she drew on 1940s hunting clothes to deconstruct the women's line ....

TOMMY HILFIGER

He of global brand launched his collection with menswear more than 25 years ago. He returns to those roots next season, reinterpreting them for women .

A gray herringbone double-breasted jacket with matching wide-leg trousers set the borrowed-from-the-boys mood ....

There were glen plaids, peacoats and jackets with leather patches on the elbows.

Handkerchiefs peeked out of pockets.....

The article above has a headline that says "Feminine twist."  Considering the picture that accompanies the article, I am trying to figure out just which part of it was supposed to be feminine.  I would have said it was the long hair, but it actually looks like the hair of a man I know.

Moving on, here is another recent find along these same lines.  An online catalog lists certain women's clothing items as being "Menswear-Inspired" and "Borrowed-from-the-boys."  Take a look:

What has happened recently is very interesting.  The world system has discovered that they can be out of the closet about their unisex agenda in the fashion world.  Nobody is paying attention anymore; nobody is speaking out against it anymore.  Now they can proudly proclaim that their fashions for women are actually just slightly modified men's clothes.  Even the Christian women have already been wearing men's fashions for a few decades now, so why bother to keep the unisex agenda secret any longer?  Who cares about it?  Who is going to fuss if they just stand up and say out loud what they've been up to for the last 40 years?

An even further interesting tidbit is this, as our Lord said, "the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light," Luke 16:8 .  The world now plainly admits that certain items of women's clothing are identified with men, while Christians want to deny that fact and defend to the death their women wearing what pertains to the man .

These are interesting times in which we live.
